Why do the conservatory program?
The Musical Theatre Conservatory at Northern Starz Center for the Performing Arts offers a rigorous and comprehensive program tailored for musical theatre students in grades 7-12. Students will immerse themselves in a diverse array of classes, including acting technique, vocal performance, audition preparation, musical theatre history, and more.
This well-rounded curriculum ensures that each participant develops a robust skill set essential for success in the performing arts. Additionally, the conservatory provides unique performance opportunities that allow students to showcase the artistic talents they cultivate throughout their training.

Past Conservatory Programming
OUT of the Pond: A Devised Fairytale Musical
In this imaginative world, the Ugly Duckling finds herself in a liminal dimension where she possesses the ability to dive into the pages of classic fairytales. This devised project follows several well-known stories including Tortoise & The Hare, Goldilocks, the Three Little Pigs, The Red Shoes, The Happy Prince, and more! But the traditional stories we know and love aren’t quite what they seem. Through whimsical twists and enchanting turns, this kid-friendly musical explores themes of self-discovery, acceptance, and the transformative power of finding one’s place in the world.
Out of the Pond is a whimsical, heartwarming, and original devised fairytale musical created by the talented students of Northern Starz Center for the Performing Arts Conservatory Program.
