Wonderland: Alice's Rock and Roll Adventure

Conservatory Program open for students 7th-12th Grade

Show Summary

How can you march to the beat of your own drummer when you're still writing the song? Everyone's search for one's authentic self is at the heart of Wonderland: Alice's Rock & Roll Adventure. Carroll's beloved, poetic tale of self-actualization is brought to life by a cast of actors/musicians who create an eclectic, live rock soundtrack as 7-1/2-year-old Alice searches for her own inner musical voice. Along the way, Alice faces challenges and fears, but she meets the ultimate test in the form of the Jabberwocky, an insidious monster made up of the dark thoughts and self-doubt that lurks inside us all. In learning to believe in the impossible, Alice learns to believe in herself. Throughout her journey, the actors surround Alice in a live musical tapestry ranging from classic rock to punk to ska and even a little bit of Bollywood. Rock concert meets live theatre as Alice reflects the vulnerabilities of all kids and then confidently finds her own inner voice.

Conservatory Program Summary

Step into the spotlight—and behind the scenes! This winter, students in grades 7–12 are invited to be part of an exciting Musical Theatre Conservatory that blends performance, design, and hands-on learning. Over the course of three months, students will bring Wonderland: Alice’s Rock & Roll Adventure to life, a high-energy rock musical that reimagines Lewis Carroll’s classic tale through powerful music, vibrant characters, and Alice’s journey to discover her own voice.

More than just a performance program, this conservatory is an immersive educational experience. Students will not only rehearse and perform in the show, but also dive into one of four key design and production areas: prop design, costume design, light & sound design, or dance focus—gaining real-world insight into how a show is built from the ground up. Each week, one rehearsal day is dedicated to their chosen specialization, empowering students to explore new skills and creative passions.

Whether you're center stage or designing the magic behind it, you'll grow as a performer, collaborator, and creative thinker. It’s musical theatre like you’ve never experienced before—full of music, imagination, and self-discovery.

Join us, and march to the beat of your own (rock and roll) drummer!
